All the watch news, reviews, videos you want, brought to you from fellow collectors
Last year at Watches and Wonders, Czapek and Cie. introduced three new references to the Promenade collection—Promenade Guilloché Ivoir and Promenade Guilloche Blue Nuit featuring a Soleil’ guilloché pattern on a secret alloy dial coloured in ivory or blue, alongside Promenade Goutte d'Eau, 100-piece limited edition with Grand-feu sapphire blue enamel dial, which evokes the ripple effect of water.
Now, Czapek elevates the collection further with the Promenade Plissé, distinguished by its pleated dial motif in rose, pearl, and ivory. Each version is a limited edition of just 18 pieces.
Thoughtfully designed to make them elegant and comfortable on the wrist, the gender-neutral watches are crafted in 38mm stainless steel with an updated case design of the brand's renowned Quai des Bergues model seamlessly blending with the design language of the Promenade series. The case features a circular, ultra-thin bezel, curved crown protection, and sandblasted sides.
Patterns on the dials give the impression that the lines extend from the small seconds subdial at 4.30. These are inspired by fabrics and are made using a sophisticated stamping process—a novel method invented in collaboration with Metalem, Czapek’s long-time partner. The effect is similar to pleated fabric, such that when the wearer moves their wrist, the dial's design seems to shift. Other components on the dial, like the hour markers with diamond-cut angles and skeletonised arrow hands, have been kept minimalistic to hold the attention of the dial.
“We have always believed that gender divisions in watchmaking are largely artificial,” says Xavier de Roquemarel, CEO of Czapek & Cie. “Beauty and creativity unite men and women; making a beautiful watch cannot be reduced to a gender split. A beautiful watch will please men and women equally, in the same way that a beautifully tailored smoking [tuxedo suit] looks equally wonderful on men and women.”
The in-house calibre SXH5 with a micro-rotor movement beats inside the timepieces with a frequency of 4Hz and a power reserve of about 60 hours. The ivory and pearl dial watches are finished with brown and beige leather bands, the rose dial version comes with a Milanese mesh steel bracelet.
The timepieces are priced at approx. INR 15,56,000, and can be ordered at the brand's authorised retailers across the world, the Czapek boutique in Geneva, Switzerland, and Czapek.com, which will be delivered in the first quarter of 2026.
