With 2025 marking the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 and the 50th anniversary of the Laureato collection, Girard-Perregaux has unveiled the Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition (Ref. 81070-21-3405-1CX).
Girard-Perregaux's relationship with the automotive world dates back to the 1930s when the brand produced pocket watches for Shell. In 2021, the watchmaker officially teamed up with Aston Martin, leading to a series of co-branded timepieces. The Laureato collection debuted in 1975 with an octagonal bezel, a tonneau-shaped case, an integrated bracelet, and a quartz movement. It was revived in 2016 with limited editions and re-entered serial production in 2017. Its sub-collection, the Laureato Absolute, was introduced in 2019 with a sportier and more rugged aesthetic, featuring larger case sizes.
Crafted in titanium with a sandblasted matte finish, the Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition measures 44mm in diameter with a 14.65mm thickness, offering a robust yet lightweight build. The dial sits deep inside the case, framed by a sloping minutes flange and applied luminescent indices. Honouring Aston Martin's motorsport heritage, the dial features the brand’s signature British Racing Green colour with subtle lime green accents inspired by Aston Martin's F1 car livery. The partially open-worked hands take inspiration from the DB12’s front grille, while the octagonal screw-down crown, accented with a green ring, ensures water resistance up to 300 metres.
Powering the timepiece is the automatic GP03300 movement, housed beneath a screwed caseback engraved with Aston Martin’s iconic winged logo. The movement beats at 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and provides a 46-hour power reserve.
Complementing the watch’s sporty personality is a green FKM rubber strap with a fabric-effect texture, secured with a titanium folding clasp featuring a micro-adjustment system.
Limited to just 88 pieces worldwide, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition retails at approximately INR 13,28,000.
