Renowned for its nature-inspired artistry, Grand Seiko expands its Heritage Collection with two stunning timepieces, influenced by the seasons and shifting landscapes of the country throughout the year—the SBGH351 Rikka (the spring-to-summer transition) and SBGH353 Shūbun (the autumn equinox). The two timepieces are an extension of the Four Seasons Collection presented in 2019, named after the twenty-four sekki or seasons of Japan, and distinguished by their bezel-less design and zaratsu polishing (a Japanese technique to achieve a mirror-like finish) on the case.
The timepieces are crafted in the brand’s exclusive Ever-Brilliant Stainless Steel, with the edges accentuated by zaratsu finish, and house the brand’s Hi-Beat 36000 Calibre 9S85 which offers a 55-hour power reserve and a precision of +5 to -3 seconds per day.
The SBGH351 features a green dial marking the change of season from spring to summer and the SBGH353 evokes the night sky with its deep blue dial. The hands and indices are made of steel while the GS logo and the central seconds hand are highlighted in gold, adding a refined contrast to the dial. The date window rests at 3 o’clock.
The timepieces are resistant to magnetic fields for up to 4,800 A/m and offer a water resistance of 100 metres. Flanked with a three-linked bracelet in Ever-Brilliant Steel, the timepieces are priced at approximately INR 6,30,000.

What we think -
After the Four Seasons collection which featured timepieces in plain stainless steel, the brand has upped the ante by introducing a highly corrosion-resistant Ever-Brilliant stainless steel to the Heritage Collection. This is a welcome change which will impart a longer lasting lustre to the metal.
