Parisian fashion Hermès the Arceau Petite Lune continues its tradition of poetic watchmaking with the introduction of the Arceau Petite Lune, featuring an off-centred moon-phase complication accentuated with diamond-set eclipses. Following last year’s starry night sky version, the new timepiece exhibits a mesmerising display of deep blue hues and brilliant-cut diamonds.
The Arceau was created by Henri d'Origny in 1978 and stands out for its round case and asymmetrical lugs shaped like stirrups, bowing to the history of the brand’s equestrian heritage. The 38mm timepiece is crafted in stainless steel featuring the statement elements of the Arceau line. A gradient deep blue dial sets the backdrop for the celestial feature with the moon phase complication captivating at 10.30. Clusters of diamonds form a crescent at the dial centre and on the bezel, subtly hinting at an eclipse. The hours and minutes are displayed through elegant open-worked leaf-shaped hands.
The in-house H1837 automatic movement drives the timepiece with a power receive of about 42 hours. The movement also enchants with its decorations—satin-finished bridges, Perlage, and Hermès oscillating weight can be seen through the sapphire caseback.
Flanking the timepiece the abyss blue alligator leather strap, crafted exclusively in the Hermès' ateliers, further elevates the charm of the timepiece which is priced at INR 14,28,000 (approx.)
