In early 2025, TAG Heuer made a significant announcement, reclaiming its role as the official timekeeper of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. This comes as the sport celebrates its 75th anniversary and a 10-year partnership with the LVMH group, of which TAG Heuer is a part. For decades, the brand has maintained strong ties with motorsports, with iconic collections like the Carrera and Monaco drawing inspiration from racing and motorcars. TAG Heuer’s logo first appeared on a Formula 1 car in 1969. The brand takes over the timekeeping role from Rolex, which has had held the role since 2013.
To mark the occasion, TAG Heuer has unveiled a new Formula 1 collection featuring five automatic chronograph watches. These timepieces come in 44mm-wide and 14.1mm-thick grade 2 titanium cases, introducing a fresh design language for the brand. Three models are housed in black DLC-coated cases with a brushed finish, accented by bold red, green, or blue highlights. The red-accented variant is also available in a natural titanium finish, making it the fourth model in the lineup. These four timepieces feature matte black dials and aluminium bezel inserts.
The fifth model is a special edition created for the Oracle Red Bull Racing team. It is crafted from bead-blasted titanium and features a checker-patterned dial in the team’s signature colours—deep blue, red, and yellow—framed by a carbon-insert bezel.
The case design is completed with a robust sapphire crystal, shaped chronograph pushers, and a notched crown with a coloured ring. The watches offer a water resistance of up to 200 metres.
The dial follows a tricompax layout, with a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock. The TAG Heuer and Formula 1 logos appear at 3 o’clock, along with a date window. The semi-skeletonised hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility.
Powering the collection is TAG Heuer’s automatic Calibre 16 chronograph movement, based on the Sellita SW510. It beats at 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.

Completing the sporty aesthetic are integrated rubber straps available in black, red, or Oracle Red Bull Racing blue, secured with a pin buckle featuring a coloured edge. The prices for the watches are INR 4,69,200 for the bare titanium model, INR 4,89,600 for the black DLC-coated versions, and INR 5,40,600 for the Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition.
What we think -
This is the perfect way to celebrate the return of the well respected partnership - that of TAG Heuer returning as the official timekeepers of the Formula 1 Championship. The new racing chronographs in Titanium keep things light on the wrist so that there is no loss of focus from the track, although a hard thing to do with such catchy color on the dials and cases.
