Berlin-based independent watchmaker Felipe Pikullik is known for his hand-skeletonised movements and meticulous finishing. The watchmaker’s annual Felipe Pikullik Skeleton (FPSK) series of skeletonised timepieces has reached its fifth edition in 2025, introducing the new FPSK25 Regulator, which features a regulator-style display combined with an extensively reworked movement.
The 41mm FPSK25 Regulator is crafted in stainless steel with satin-finished flanks, contrasted by a polished bezel and lugs. The timepiece maintains a sleek profile at just 10.5mm thick.
The openworked dial, capped by a sapphire crystal, showcases the regulator-style layout with the top plate skeletonized in positive relief. Matte black rhodium-recessed surfaces contrast beautifully with the rose gold-coloured upper surfaces. Every detail is brushed and chamfered by hand, adding depth and dimension to the design.
Beneath the openworked elements lies a frosted main plate finished in dark rhodium. The hands continue the theme with two-tone frosted and polished surfaces in rose gold. The watch displays time in a regulator-style format, with central minutes, an hour sub-dial at 12 o’clock, and small seconds at 6 o’clock.
Powering the Felipe Pikullik FPSK25 Regulator is a hand-wound movement based on the ETA Unitas regulator, beating at a frequency of 2.5Hz with a precision of 0 to +5 seconds per day and a power reserve of approximately 46 hours. The movement is decorated with hand-cut and polished details, including skeletonised bridges, hand-applied bevels, a gold barrel cap, a frosted and black rhodium-coated main plate, a hand-engraved balance cock with a floral pattern, snailing on the ratchet wheel, and beveled, hand-polished teeth.
Completing the timepiece is a calfskin strap secured with a stainless steel pin buckle. The watch is a limited edition of just ten pieces, priced at approximately Rs. 18,05,000. The exclusive Felipe Pikullik FPSK25 Regulator is available only at the brand’s atelier in Berlin.
What we think -
It is a sad state of affairs that such high horology independent watchmakers get almost no recognition in India. What compounds the problem is that such products are simply not available in the country, and that makes appreciation a distant concern when basic understanding is still lacking. The watch, on its merits, is a masterpiece.
