Ahead of Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025, Pequignet has unveiled the Royale Paris 39.5mm (Ref. 9100633)—a refined evolution of its flagship model that reflects the brand’s updated design direction. This new release preserves the mechanical essence of the Royale line while introducing a more contemporary aesthetic.
Founded in 1973 by Émile Pequignet in Morteau, near the French-Swiss border, Pequignet rose rapidly in the 1980s and '90s, but also weathered several industry challenges over its 50-year journey. In the early 2000s, the maison began its transition into an integrated manufacture, launching its first in-house calibre—the Calibre Royal—in 2011, followed by the Calibre Initial in 2021.
The new Royale Paris 39.5mm is housed in a stainless steel case with polished and satin-brushed finishes. A slimmer bezel, recessed flanks, and the brand’s signature attached lugs—now brushed on top and polished on the sides—add to the watch’s refined presence. A double-framed day and large date display sits above the centre axis, while additional complications include a power reserve indicator at 8 o’clock, a small seconds subdial at 4 o’clock, and a double moon phase at 6 o’clock, calibrated for both hemispheres. Bevelled stick indices and polished steel hands coated with Super-LumiNova® ensure excellent readability.
The updated Calibre Royal is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, secured by six screws. This in-house automatic movement provides a 96-hour power reserve from a single barrel and beats at 3 Hz. Decorative finishing includes stripes, perlage, and a sunray-brushed, rhodium-plated rotor adorned with the brand’s emblematic fleur-de-lis—a motif that also appears on the embossed crown, celebrating Pequignet’s French heritage.
The timepiece is paired with a light brown alligator leather strap, fastened with a steel folding clasp. Priced from INR 7,80,000 (approx.), it will be available starting June 2025.
