H. Moser & Cie., the independent Swiss brand known for pairing high-end watchmaking with bold and playful chromatic flair, has introduced a striking new dial to its Pioneer Centre Seconds collection: the Sunny-Side Up. Known for dial hues like Cosmic Green, Funky Blue, and Swiss Mad Red, Moser now adds a rich yellow fumé dial reminiscent of an egg yolk—paired with a cheeky nod to the classic chicken-and-egg debate.
The Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up retains the line’s well-established technical and aesthetic DNA. It features a 40mm brushed stainless steel case with the collection’s signature ridged flanks. The screw-down crown is engraved with the brand’s ‘M’. The watch offers a water resistance of 120 metres.
Capped by a domed sapphire crystal, the dial displays a vibrant yellow fumé gradient that darkens toward the edges. It draws attention with minimalist applied indices and luminous hour dots. The leaf-shaped hour and minute hands, skeletonised at the base, are filled with Super-LumiNova, while the central seconds hand features an openworked counterweight for added finesse.
Powering the timepiece is the HMC 201 automatic calibre, a refined evolution of Moser’s HMC 200. Operating at 3 Hz, it delivers a 3-day power reserve and includes Moser’s proprietary Original Straumann® hairspring and a hacking seconds mechanism. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement features a partially skeletonised rotor engraved with Moser’s double stripes and finished in anthracite, along with skeletonised bridges.
Completing the egg-inspired aesthetic, the Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up is paired with a white rubber strap, secured with a steel pin buckle engraved with the brand’s logo. A stainless steel bracelet is also offered as an alternative.
What we think -
Shrinking the Pioneer case size to 40mm was a great move by Moser which made the line more accessible for a lot of different wrists, and now the sublime color shade takes it up another notch. Following from a spectacular Watches & Wonders 2025, H. Moser & Cie continue to make waves in the industry.
