All the watch news, reviews, videos you want, brought to you from fellow collectors
This year, Jacob & Co. marks the 10th anniversary of its iconic Astronomia collection. To celebrate the occasion, the brand has unveiled the world’s first four-axis tourbillon—the Astronomia Revolution Four-Axis Tourbillon is the latest evolution in a line that began with the original Astronomia Tourbillon in 2015, where a watch rotated its entire movement every 20 minutes. It was followed by even faster versions, the 2023 Astronomia Revolution rotated every 60 seconds.
Housed in a 47mm 18K rose gold case topped by a sapphire crystal, the tourbillon has each of the four axes rotating at distinct speeds — 60 seconds, 18 seconds, 15 seconds, and 60 seconds. Positioned at the apex of the central rotating carousel, the tourbillon completes a full revolution in just 60 seconds. The time is displayed by dauphine hour and minute hands on the red composite hour and minute dial.
This is powered by a high-frequency constant force mechanism with 1/6th of a second frequency, delivering consistent energy and precision—the hand-wound JCAM54 calibre completes its movement rotation every 60 seconds.
Apart from the impressive mechanics, the timepiece features a mirror-polished gold-plated backplate laid out in a geometric mosaic, refracting light in every direction. Unlike traditional gem settings, the mosaic’s inverted rose gold volumes create a play of shadow and brilliance.
Limited to just 18 pieces, the timepiece is paired with a red alligator leather strap. It is priced at approximately INR 5,97,57,000.
What we think -
Records are no match for Jacob & Co. as they have repeatedly shown. This 10th Anniversary edition embodies their watchmaking prowess exactly how the brand envisions and we absolutely love it!
