Laurent Ferrier makes a grand entry at Watches & Wonders Geneva, 2025, by expanding their iconic Classic Auto family with the all-new Classic Auto Horizon, now part of its permanent collection.

Since their inception in 2010, Laurent Ferrier has slowly and steadily created a niche for themselves for creating some of the most evocative, minimalistic pieces, echoing with simplicity, precision, and pure, uncluttered beauty.

But their story began much before that. A third-generation watchmaker, Laurent Ferrier founded his eponymous brand at the age of 63, after spending over 37 years perfecting his craft at some of Switzerland’s most storied maisons — including Patek Philippe. His debut piece, the Classic Tourbillon Double Hairspring, won the Best Men’s Watch at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève and signaled the arrival of the brand in the world of haute horology.

In 2023, the Classic Auto Sandstone was released as a limited Série Atelier piece with a copper-toned dial, the Classic Auto Horizon now come with a cool icy blue dial!

A Heart of Shared Heritage

The Classic Auto Horizon borrows its moniker from the "Auto" calibre, the LF 270.01, first introduced in the Sport Auto model. This shared heart underlines the connection between sportiness and elegance within the Laurent Ferrier universe. Paying subtle homage to the brand's first self-winding movement, this exclusive in-house development includes a 950 platinum micro-rotor nestled between the mainplate and rotor bridge, ensuring superb winding efficiency. The Swiss lever escapement, fitted with a unidirectional ball bearing, makes this a movement ready to withstand life's bumps and jolts.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations/hour) with an impressive 72-hour power reserve, makes it a reliable partner for long weekends.

Housed in their signature pebble-shaped case inspired by the 19th-century pocket watches, the Classic Auto Horizon comes in a 40mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 11.94mm.

The calm of a clear horizon

Inspired by the open, blue sky, the dial is where the magic happens!

The watch face has a soft vertical satin-brushed surface, with a fine layer of translucent blue lacquer applied to a base treated with a silver galvanic coating. The minute track, with its circular satin-brushed finishing framing the dial, is uniquely soothing.

Like its predecessor, the Classic Auto Horizon also features its signature date window at three o’clock, a boldly sloped aperture with a fine dark blue outline, ensuring easy legibility without disrupting the dial’s harmony. The recessed small seconds at 6 o’clock is snailed, with dark blue markers and a baton-shaped hand, also in white gold. Drop-shaped indices and Assegai-shaped hands in polished white gold, a hallmark of the brand, round out the visual experience.

Turn the watch over and discover the very heart of the finely finished movement, in true Laurent Ferrier style, through the transparent sapphire caseback. Another special addition to this edition is the 950 platinum micro-rotor is delicately hand-engraved with a feathered motif — a poetic nod to the beak-like shape of the automatic bridge.

Its exceptional finishing, including rhodium-plated Côtes de Genève on the bridges, quietly echoes with the brand’s philosophy of timeless elegance.

Priced at $ 51,000 USD approx., the Classic Auto Horizon comes paired with hand-stitched taupe goat leather strap with tone-on-tone Alcantara lining and stainless-steel pin buckle.
