In 2016, the Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture became the most affordable quantième perpétuel ever released by a brand, priced under €8,000. At 42mm in diameter, the timepiece ran on Frederique Constant’s in-house calibre FC-775. This year at Watches and Wonders, the timepiece returns with a salmon dial, housed with a new in-house calibre, and once again offered at an accessible price point.
The new Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture (Ref. FC-776SAL3H6) is now more compact at 40mm in diameter, featuring slimmer lugs and smooth lines. Crafted in stainless steel, the case is topped with a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, beneath which sits the sunray-finished salmon dial. Slender diamond-cut indices and hand-polished Dauphine hands in a silver tone complement the elegant dial color. The calendar layout remains unchanged: days of the week are displayed at 9 o’clock, the month and leap year indicator sits at 12 o’clock, and the date at 3 o’clock. A moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock shows a blue sky with silver-toned moon and stars.
Powering the new timepiece is the brand’s 34th in-house movement, the manufacture FC-776 calibre, which beats at 4 Hz and offers a 72-hour power reserve.
Paired with a dark brown alligator leather strap, the timepiece retails for CHF 9,995 or approximately INR 10,46,000.
