Not just one, but with two new additions to the iconic Freelancer collection, RAYMOND WEIL has once again created quite a stir at Watches & Wonders 2025

Synonymous with the spirit of independence and individuality since its debut in 2007, the Freelancer collection enters a new era of evolution this year with the debut of the Freelancer Complete Calendar and the Freelancer RW1212 Skeleton

With a legacy steeped in Swiss horological innovation, the brand has steadily built a name for itself since its inception in 1976. But it was with the third-generation Weil family that the brand truly came into its own. As the first collection personally directed by Elie Bernheim, this beautiful collection acts as a bridge- modernizing the brand while remaining firmly tied to its heritage. One signature design feature of the Freelancer collection was the presence of a singular screw, cleverly integrated to support the dial opening, whether at 11 o'clock or positioned near the seconds hand or date display. From classic time-only models to sportier chronographs, divers, skeletonized models, world timers with round and square-shaped cases - the collection has evolved over the years, always echoing the bold and visionary spirit of Mr. Raymond Weil, the brand’s founder.

Freelancer, as its name implies, symbolizes the liberty to express our mastery while honoring our heritage. Today, more than ever, this collection both encapsulates the essence of our family brand and charts the path to our future.”  Elie Bernheim, CEO of RAYMOND WEIL

The Complete Calendar on your wrist!

Reimagined for today, the iconic Freelancer steps into the future with its first Complete Calendar.

Precision-driven yet effortlessly stylish, it features an exceptional dial displaying the day, month, and moon phase complication within a redesigned 40 mm case featuring integrated correctors. Every detail reflects the brand’s pursuit of excellence, where mechanical precision and timeless elegance come together as one.

Available in two distinct styles, the Freelancer Complete Calendar offers a choice between warm luxury and modern chic. One features a rose gold PVD-coated stainless-steel case paired with a sunray silver dial, enriched with warm hues and rose gold-plated indexes. Fitted with a brown genuine calf leather strap, this is perfect for that timeless, elegant look. The other presents a stainless-steel case with a matching bracelet. With a deep sunray blue dial, complemented by nickel-plated applied indexes, this has a sleek, modern style.

Freelancer RW1212 Skeleton: Where Mechanics Meet Art

The second model to join the Freelancer ranks is the limited-edition RW1212 Skeleton, with only 500 pieces.

Encased in a newly refined cushion-shaped case, the RW1212 Skeleton offers a fresh perspective on the brand’s signature skeletonized design.

This two-handed watch houses a striking open-worked dial that puts its mechanical heart on full display.  And that’s not all, you just can’t miss the balance wheel at 6 o’clock! The open dial beautifully emphasizes the sleek traversing bridge, amplifying its depth and adding a striking architectural element to the dial.

This contemporary and sporty timepiece features a black galvanic skeleton dial and a modern black leather strap that gives it an edgy appeal. Water-resistant to 100 meters, this collector’s item is built for everyday versatility.

Powering this masterpiece is the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, RW1212, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and offering a 41-hour power reserve.

With these new Freelancer launches, it will be interesting to see where a design-led brand like RAYMOND WEIL goes next. Always colouring out of the box, the brand is easily creating an experience by keeping things new and unpredictable for watch enthusiasts, making these new timepieces a must-have for collectors.

The Freelancer Complete Calendar watches are priced at approximately Rs. 3,50,000/- and the Freelancer RW1212 Skeleton is priced at approximately Rs. 3,40,000/-

What we think -

The Freelancer collection has been a crowd pleaser for ages and now Raymond Weil has come full circle and made it a comprehensively rounded range with the complete calendar releases. What’s next for the watchmaker - a perpetual calendar, maybe? We will be the first in line.
