MeisterSinger, the German watch brand renowned for its single-hand timepieces, has introduced its latest collection, Kaenos, alongside an exclusive collaboration with French modernist artist and watchmaker Alain Silberstein.
Kaenos and Kaenos Open Date
The name Kaenos is derived from the Greek word kainos, meaning “new” or “fresh.” True to its name, the Kaenos collection brings a contemporary twist to MeisterSinger’s design language, incorporating a more versatile and sporty aesthetic while preserving the brand’s signature single-hand timekeeping philosophy.
Both the Kaenos and Kaenos Open Date models feature a 40mm stainless steel case, finished with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. Their dials are constructed with two superimposed layers, creating a striking three-dimensional effect. The upper layer has numerals and hour markers that are precisely cut out, revealing a luminous lower layer that enhances readability. The collection offers four dial color options:
Swiss movements power these timepieces. The Kaenos model runs on the Sellita SW400 automatic movement, featuring a large date window at 6 o’clock, and the Kaenos Open Date with a circular open-date display is driven by the Sellita SW200. Both the calibres offer a 38-hour autonomy.
The case comes flanked with an integrated bracelet, adding to the collection’s contemporary appeal, finished with polished and brushed surfaces. The timepieces are water resistant up to 100 metres.
MeisterSinger x Alain Silberstein
Accompanying the Kaenos launch, MeisterSinger has teamed up with Alain Silberstein, known for his distinct, playful geometric watch designs. Together, the duo have created two limited edition timepieces of 225 pieces each—the Grand Date and the Open Date.
Both the 40mm timepieces are crafted in () and feature a jet-black dial accented by Silberstein’s signature colours: a red single-hour hand reinterpreting MeisterSinger’s aesthetic; and applied golden hour markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock.
Each model presents a unique date display. The Grand Date features a rectangular date window at 6 o’clock, and the Open Date version has a fully exposed date ring. Visible through the exhibition case back, the custom-designed black and gold rotor of the Sellita SW400 automatic movement complements the dial’s colour scheme.
Both watches come in exclusive packaging, accompanied by a signed edition booklet from MeisterSinger’s founder Manfred Brassler and Alain Silberstein.
